The desktop app brings anyui-LIVE into a native window on your machine. It carries every capability of the web app, and adds direct access to your local disk and a built-in simulator build.
Everything the web app does
The desktop app runs the same editor as the browser version, so nothing changes in your day-to-day workflow:
- The same workspace, editor, canvas, preview, resource management, and history.
- The same agent for building UIs with natural language.
- The same code generation pipeline, so exported projects are identical.
What the desktop app adds
The desktop app can work with files on your machine, which a browser tab cannot:
- Write generated code straight into your project folder. Pick a folder with the native folder dialog and the generated sources are saved in place. After the first approval, later exports update the folder silently, with no ZIP downloads to unpack.
- Create a ready-to-build simulator project. The app fills a folder on your disk with the LVGL simulator template that matches your target version (
v8.3.7orv9.2.2). - Compile and run the simulator without a terminal. Build and launch the local simulator from the editor, watch a live build log, and stop the build at any time. On Windows, the build toolchain and the SDL2 library come bundled with the app, so you can skip the manual environment setup described in the Simulator guide.
- Keep your own edits. Code you hand-edited inside the project folder, such as custom event logic, is preserved when you regenerate.
- Stay in sync. Regenerating cleans up files that no longer belong, so deleted screens, fonts, and images really disappear from the folder instead of lingering as stale copies.
- Save files natively. Binary artifacts are saved through a native Save As dialog, and project packages export and import as real folders.
- Safe closing. The app asks about unsaved changes before it closes, and links open in your system browser.
